Fresh organic produce on sale at the local farmers market. One of our favorite events from last year is back this weekend! The second annual Foodaroo is a family-friendly festival that unites Vermont’s culinary artisans and beverage makers, with an emphasis on Addison County and Chittenden County vendors and farms. From food trucks to brick-and-mortar operations, this outdoor event showcases creative, locally-sourced cuisine… while top local musicians rock the green from the top of Town Hall Theater’s steps. Attendees taste their way through a huge diversity of vendors (even more than last year)… while street performers, dancers, cooking demos and visual artists showcase the best of Vermont’s thriving maker movement. Artists include Josh Panda and the Hot Damned, Dwight & Nicole, The Bengsons, The Good PartsThe Red Trouser Show and many other surprises.  By design, Foodaroo offers FREE General Admission to enjoy the performances and festival activities.

While that all keeps us happy, we’re beyond thrilled to hear that there are events aimed to KEEP OUR KIDS’ HAPPY this year. A powerhouse of partner organizations – Building Bright Futures, the Community Potluck Fund, Let’s Grow Kids, The Permanent Fund for Vermont’s Children, and Vermont Birth to Five – present BRAIN GAMES! Hosted from 3-7 p.m. on Middlebury’s town green, Brain Games features engaging kids’ activities, ranging from a life-sized Chutes & Ladders game to giant LEGOS!… and free smoothies, blended by bike power. Early childhood education leaders are on hand to guide the experience, and help explore the importance of early childhood development.  Back by popular demand, the Middlebury Co-op has once again sponsored a kids’ cooking class, this time hosted by local chef Julia Clancy. Ollie’s Other Place will feature a huge coloring poster, blocks and building toys in a quieter space in Town Hall Theater. Cornhole will be on hand, courtesy of SunCommon… not to mention plenty of bubbles, a bounce house, and a reading tent hosted by the Addison County Readers.

FOODAROO FOR THE HUNGRY: Event attendees are encouraged to pay it forward. When you come to feast please consider contributing non-perishable food items to HOPE for Addison County’s Food Shelf.

We hope to see you there this Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 3:00 to 9:00pm.

Foodaroo is presented by Middlebury UndergrounD (MUD) in partnership with Town Hall Theater
